Multiple stabbing attacks in Canada leave multiple victims

canada-trudeau-Saskatchewan-300x200
Ottawa, Sep 5 (Prensa Latina) A series of stabbings left at least 10 deaths and 15 injured in the province of Saskatchewan, in the center of the country.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) reported that the attacks occurred in 13 different locations northeast of the city of Saskatoon, in the province of Saskatchewan.

RCMP Deputy Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore said some of the victims appear to have been pre-selected by the suspects, while others are believed to have been randomly targeted. ‘What has happened in our province is horrible,’ she stated.

The Regina Police Service said in a press release to be working on several fronts to locate and arrest suspects, in addition to having “deployed additional resources for public safety throughout the city.”

The Saskatchewan Health Authority confirmed that several people are being assessed and cared for at multiple sites, and that work is being done to respond to patient needs.

According to Stars Air Ambulance spokesman Mark Oddan, some of the injured were taken to the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.

As the search for the perpetrators of the attacks is underway, the authorities asked the residents of the province to remain in safe places, while police checkpoints were established to verify the identity of travelers.
