Dominican Republic reports 12 monkeypox cases

Santo Domingo, Sep 7 (Prensa Latina) The Dominican Public Health Ministry on Wednesday reported 12 cases of monkeypox nationwide, also registering three new positive cases.

The three new cases are a 28 year-old man resident in San Cristóbal province, a 27-year-old woman living in the National District, both at-home screening, while the third positive case, of Haitian nationality, has been sent and isolated at the Ramón de Lara Hospital.

Health authorities are also monitoring the health conditions and progress of another individual who has shown rashes, yet it could be chickenpox, a disease which is similar to the monkeypox.
