The order signed by prosecutor Alexander Mendoza clarifies that it was issued “due to he did not show up to give his police statement without justifying his failure to appear and ignoring the Authority’s call, as happens in the present case and necessary for Fernando Pacheco’s investigation.”

Questioned by Bolivian television, his lawyer responded that he had not known for 24 hours the whereabouts of the fugitive and his wife, Brigith Suárez, who is the subject of another arrest and migratory arrest warrant, as well as her spouse.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office reported that the investigation inquires the alleged commission of bribery, undue use of influence, and benefits due to the position.

On Wednesday, Pacheco went to the Prosecutor’s Office to search the cell phone that was taken from him during the police raid of his former office and his residence, but for obvious reasons that request was denied so that he return to testify as a defendant 24 hours later.
