On its Twitter account, the Cuban Foreign Ministry ratified the willingness to continue strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Tajikistan supports Cuba in the fight against the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States, and maintains its invariable vote in favor of the United Nations Resolution that demands the immediate and unconditional end of that genocidal and unilateral policy.

Tajikistan proclaimed its independence from the Soviet Union on September 9, 1991.
