Agroecology on the program of Varadero Gourmet 2022

Havana, Sep 13 (Prensa Latina) Agroecology, the evolution of Cuba's classic cocktails and regenerative viticulture are the topics on the program of the second day of the Varadero Gourmet 2022 International Festival.

After two years without being held due to the global context generated by the Covid-19 pandemic, the event returns dedicated to ecogastronomy, a concept that promotes traditional and sustainable cuisine.

The general director of Empresa Extrahotelera Palmares S.A., Jorge Luis Acosta, the institution that organizes the event, emphasized yesterday during the inauguration of the meeting that betting on this theme is to recover autochthonous culinary tasks, to take care of history and to defend the culture of the peoples.

The president of the Varadero Gourmet Organizing Committee also stressed that ecogastronomy is an experience through which the consumer’s palate is exposed to new, native and distinctive flavors.

The event runs until next Thursday, September 15, at the Plaza America Varadero Convention Center of the renowned seaside resort (located in the western province of Matanzas) with blind tastings, cocktail competitions, academic lectures and exhibitions of gastronomic products.
