Mexico describes collaboration with Cuba in health care as historic

Mexico, Sep 13 (Prensa Latina) The general director of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), Zoe Robledo, on Tuesday described as historic the collaboration between Cuba and Mexico in the field of health care.

In his traditional Tuesday report at the presidential morning press conference at the National Palace, the top official explained that there are already 277 Cuban medical specialists in hospitals in seven states in Mexico.

He said that there are 92 in Nayarit, 57 in Colima, 59 in Tlaxcala, 10 in Baja California Sur, 11 in Zacatecas, 5 in Sonora and 43 in Oaxaca. He announced that the last 333 will soon arrive and will be assigned to the states of Oaxaca, Guerrero, and Veracruz.

With their presence, he pointed out, Mexico was able to complete its staff of specialists to 100 percent in the hospitals of Nayarit, Colima, and Tlaxcala, and increase them to cover deficits in the rest of the states, which is why we consider it a historic event.

She noted that Mexico, and the IMSS in particular, are very grateful for this gesture from the brotherly Cuban people and government. Therefore, they expressed so recently to Deputy Minister Tania Hernandez Cruz, who is in charge of this team and the details of this relationship between two sister nations.
