Central and western Algeria endure canicular temperatures

Algiers, Sept 14 (Prensa Latina) The wilayas (provinces, in Arabic) of central and western Algeria will be watching the mercury of the thermometers that can rise up to 44 degrees, the meteorological service predicted.

The authorities decreed the amber alert for the wilayas of Ain-Témouchent, Oran, Mostaganem, Tipasa, Algiers and Boumerdes where temperatures can reach 44 degrees with very low humidity levels which makes the situation less bearable.

In the same case are the provinces of Tlemcen, Mascara, Relizane, Chlef, Ain-Defla, Blida and Tizi-Ouzou, in the center of the country.

This summer both Algeria and Morocco, its neighbor to the west, have suffered unusually high temperatures even for both countries, causing forest fires that have devastated thousands of hectares of forest.
