Justice for Sabra and Shatila massacre demanded in Lebanon

Beirut, Sep 14 (Prensa Latina) Representatives of Palestinian struggle fronts, along with Lebanese parties and organizations on Wednesday demanded justice for the perpetrators of the Sabra and Shatila massacre, four decades after the criminal act.

The meeting of the Civil Campaign in support of Palestine and the causes of the Arab nation in the country raised its voice in memory of the thousands of women, children, and men executed by the Phalangist militias of Lebanon’s Christian right wing under support for the Israeli military forces.

In the People’s Hall of the Shatila refugee camp in Beirut, those present emphasized that the attack on civilians in September 1982 does not expire with time and is a bloody stain in the history of humanity.

During a talk with Prensa Latina, Maan Bachour, coordinator of the campaign, demanded compensation for the victims’ families and blamed the Zionist entity of Israel and its internal instruments in Lebanon for carrying out such violations against the Palestinian population of Sabra and Shatila.

Bachour reiterated the commitment to the unity of all factions to defeat the occupation forces and build a true, free, independent, and sovereign Palestine.

On Saturday, thousands of Palestinian refugees in the nation and Lebanese nationals will remember the horror of the attacks on citizens of the Sabra and Chatila massacre, an unpunished act described as genocide by the United Nations.
