On his Twitter account, the head of State noted that “in view of the gas and oil supply crisis in the world, OPEC acquires greater importance as a mechanism for the defense and balance of the oil market.”
“The member countries are more united than ever, strengthening principles and doctrines,” he affirmed.
On Tuesday, the secretary general of the organization, Haitham Al-Ghais, arrived in Caracas to fulfill an important work agenda.
“We welcome in the homeland of (Simon) Bolivar and (Hugo) Chavez the #OPEC Secretary General, His Excellency #HaithamAlGhais and his entourage,” Venezuelan Foreign Minister Carlos Faria tweeted.
He announced that during the OPEC chief’s visit here, together with Venezuelan Petroleum Minister Tareck El Aissami, they will address “an important agenda on energy matters, under the guidance of President @NicolasMaduro.”
