Serbia will not yield an inch of its land, president states

Bijeljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sep 15 (Prensa Latina) Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stressed on Thursday, during the celebration of Serbian Unity Day, that his country will not yield an inch of land to those who want to take it away.

According to the president, Serbia is currently facing big challenges, as the Western nations attacked Kosovo and Metohija, want to strip them of their territories, and seek to finish what they started a long time ago.

I can tell you only one thing: they want to take our land from us in width and length, but we will not give them an inch of it, said Vucic, who was quoted by local media.

The Serbian president added that at a time when the whole world is at war, Serbs should unite, learn to respect themselves and be proud of their flag because only this way Serbia can defeat those who want to defeat it.

Recently, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz sent a joint letter to the Serbian leader, urging him to make “difficult decisions” on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija.

Serbia’s autonomous province of Kosovo and Metohija declared its unilateral independence in February 2008 and has been actively seeking to join international organizations, including UNESCO and Interpol, in recent years.

More than 60 countries, including India, China and Russia, as well as five European Union member States, oppose the recognition of Kosovo.
