According to the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM), electricity coverage in Nicaragua was 99.2% in late August. This percentage not only sets historical records, but also surpasses the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
About 3.5 million rural people have benefited from electricity services in Nicaragua in the last 15 years, MEM noted.
Official data released generation using renewable sources was 69.29% during the first days of September.
