More than 250 tour operators, wholesalers, meeting planners and incentive companies from the United States, Canada, Europe and Latin America will participate in the event, the fourth of its kind to be held in this country.

For this two-day event, considered one of the most important in the region for the development of the travel industry, more than 2,000 meetings of various types have already been scheduled, with an estimated value of more than US$3 million in business opportunities.

Participants are expected to discuss existing contracts, develop new contacts and products, and fill last-minute travel vacancies.

The director of the Tourism Promotion Fund, Fernando Fondevila, indicated that the destination marketing organization has been working to attract major international events to the country, as a way of continuing to position it as a benchmark.

It also represents an opportunity to boost tourism in the country, as local suppliers will participate, including hotels, tour operators, travel agencies and the network of chambers of the sector, he added.

Panama expects to receive 1.8 million tourists this year and approach the figures before Covid-19, according to the administrator of the Tourism Authority (ATP), Iván Eskildsen.
