As announced by General Oleg Egorov, deputy head of the Russian Coordination Center based at the Hemeimim base, the raid destroyed a headquarters of the Levant Liberation Board, formerly al-Nousra Front, in the vicinity of the village of Sheikh Yussef.
He said that among the leaders eliminated were Bilal Saed and Abu Dujana Al-Diri. The officer added that several weapons warehouses of this radical group were disabled in the attack.
On the 14th of the current month, coordinated bombardments by the Syrian and Russian forces destroyed several headquarters and camps of the radical groups in Idlib and eliminated at least 120 radicals, in addition to destroying a training camp for the use of drones.
At Damascus’ request, Russia in 2015 sent forces to Syria to help fight terrorism, which are mainly concentrated at the Hemeimem airbase and the Tartous naval base.
