Mexican series brings problems from Latin America to the screen

serie El Repatriado
Mexico City, Sep 21 (Prensa Latina) Movie theaters in Mexico today host the premiere of the series El repatriado, a production that focuses on issues such as emigration, female strength and acceptance of sexual diversity.

In 10 episodes, this drama presents the different realities of the protagonist, a young man of Mexican origin (Ricardo Abarca) who tries to achieve fame as a boxer in the United States, until he is deported and starts from scratch in the land of his ancestors.

Abarca pointed out that El repatriado is part of a new Mexican stamp, where he highlighted the search for identity of the characters, due to the stereotypes that are maintained in Latin America.

The sequence illustrates gender diversity with the incorporation of a woman belonging to an indigenous community and the inclusion of a trans character, who experiences discrimination and rejection.

Precisely, the incorporation of a figure from the LGBTI+ community constitutes a novelty in the audiovisual scene of the Aztec country, which generated controversy due to the conservative profile of the target audience.
