According to the police, the terrorists used machine guns in their attack on two buses, one transporting police personnel and the other civilians, wounding three police officers and six civilians, including four children.

The wounded were transported to hospitals in Deraa and Tafas, while army units began combing the area in search of the perpetrators.

Deraa is the target of frequent murders and attacks against soldiers and prominent social figures, aiming at disrupting the results of the reconciliation process in the province, as a result of which the presence of state institutions was strengthened.
