Caracas, Sep 21 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela and Russia on Wednesday reaffirmed their political willingness to continue strengthening the strategic cooperation alliance and bilateral friendly relations, as reported by the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs on Twitter, following a meeting held at the UN between Foreign Ministers Carlos Faría and Serguéi Lavrov.

Both foreign ministers are currently attending at the 77th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

Serguei Lavrov gave Carlos Faría the Order of Friendship awarded days ago by Russian President Vladimir Putin “for his great contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between both nations”.

We thank Russian Foreign Minister Serguei Lavrov, who officially gave us the Order of Friendship awarded to us by President Vladimir Putin, which I accept on behalf of the brave Venezuelan people and President Nicolás Maduro”, Carlos Faría live-tweeted.

On July 4, both foreign ministers met in Moscow where they announced the agreement to promote new energy, rail transport, civil aeronautics, space technology and pharmaceuticals projects.

Plus, both condemned the application of unilateral coercive measures to the two nations´ economy.

In this regard, the Bolivarian diplomat assured that energy cooperation with Russia did not stop, despite the aggression against the national oil industry.
