Former Dominican senator to support Caravan against Cuba blockade

Santo Domingo, Sep 22 (Prensa Latina) The former senator and member of the Political Committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Julio Cesar Valentin, today called on his organization to support a caravan against the blockade of Cuba, which will take place next Saturday.

According to a press release from the Communication Department of the purple party, Valentin said that ‘the international political line of the Party has called to stop the US blockade of Cuba, as well as our opposition to any kind of blockade because in the end it is the people who suffer the hardships’.

Likewise, the head of the PLD International Relations Secretariat said that before the UN General Assembly, the position against the blockade has been sustained by the governing members of his organization in the periods 1996-2000 and 2004-2020.

Last year the UN again demanded the lifting of this annoying embargo, considering it anachronistic and contrary to the principles of multilateralism’, he added.

Convened by the Dominican Campaign of Solidarity with Cuba and the Maximo Gomez Association of Cubans living in the Dominican Republic, the caravan will take place in several cities of the country.
