The content of these reports is biased and manipulated and violates the principles and purposes of the UN Charter and the principles of universality, objectivity, impartiality, and non-selectivity stipulated in the resolution on the establishment of the Council, the diplomat said before the 51st session of the HRC dedicated to discussing the situation in Syria.

He ratified his country’s rejection of the non-consensual resolution that created the investigation committee about the situation of human rights in Syria and the subsequent decisions extending its mandate.

Its reports endanger Syria for political considerations and draft in favor of agendas and purposes of the sponsoring countries of this committee, he denounced.

In the current report under discussion, the Syrian delegate said it offers a false and misrepresentative approach to the situation and turns a blind eye to terrorism and external interference.

Finally, the Syrian ambassador urged to end of the occupation of Syrian territory and the immediate and unconditional lifting of the economic blockade as they are essential to end the human suffering of the Syrian people and ensure their enjoyment of human rights, including their rights to life.
