The analysis, conducted by the international consulting firm Public First, showed that based on current trends, Italy is unlikely to reach the European Union (EU)’s target of 80.0 percent of inhabitants having such skills by 2030.
At the current rate of evolution, the percentage of the population with such skills in Italy will be 37.0 percent in eight years, the report added.
In 2021, the EU announced the Digital Decade Journey to 2030 for a digital transformation of Europe divided into the areas of skills, infrastructure, public sector, and business.
Italy is far from reaching the EU’s target of 75.0 percent of companies in the region adopting Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Cloud Services, currently in the order of 0.9; 18.0, and 39.0 percent, respectively, the source pointed out.
