The young leader acknowledged to Prensa Latina the importance of his vote, exercised for the first time on this occasion since the new legal instrument broadens rights and is a transforming and necessary work for today’s society.
After casting his vote at the Gotica de Rocio daycare center in Havana, which was turned into a polling station on this occasion, Alvarez Aguiar, who is also a member of the drafting committee of the Family Code, said that it is a Code that is essentially oriented, from its genesis to the new generations.
This principle marked by Cuba’s leadership reflects the interests of young people and, in general, the plurality of families in Cuba, which will now have a rule for their protection and reflection.
“Cuba is within the Code and this law represents not only the country of today but also the country of tomorrow, with the enormous challenge of bringing these changes to fruition. We once again ratify our democratic character,” acknowledged the president of the youth organization.
