CDR´s challenge: to join in the country’s recovery

Havana, Sep 28 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel said that the great challenge of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) is to join the country's recovery, after the passage of Hurricane Ian through the western region.

On the occasion of the celebrations this day of the 62nd anniversary of the largest mass organization of the Caribbean island, the president congratulated its members and asked, from his Twitter account that ‘we join arms and efforts, among all Cubans’ to move forward in the eradication of the damage left by the meteorological event that entered the national territory through the town of La Coloma, with category three on the Saffir-Simpson scale.

In statements to Prensa Latina, the national coordinator of the CDR, Gerardo Hernández, specified that the CDRs watch over and protect the neighborhoods, communities and the tranquility of the citizens in general.

The organization, created on September 28, 1960 by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro, has the objective of mobilizing all the people in defense of the conquests and direct work in the community.
