Russia declares Ukrainian offensive in Krasny Liman a failure

Moscow, Sep 28 (Prensa Latina) The Ukrainian offensive in the direction of Krasny Liman failed and the Ukrainian army suffered numerous losses in troops and armored vehicles, the spokesman of the Russian Defense Ministry, Igor Konashenkov, said.

As a result of the failed offensive action, the Ukrainian troops suffered 70 casualties among the troops of the 66th and 93rd mechanized brigades, as well as the destruction of four tanks and six armored transporters, Konashenkov said at his regular press conference today.

Meanwhile in the Zaporozhie region the Russian air force attacked a temporary deployment point of the Chaika tactical group, consisting of personnel of the 36th Marine Infantry Brigade and the 56th Motorized Infantry Brigade, and eliminated more than 100 servicemen, the military spokesman noted.

The Russian Army during the special operation in Ukraine destroyed the radar station of the Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile system S-300 in the Nikolayev region, Konashenkov said.

According to the lieutenant general, the strikes of tactical and Army aviation, missile and artillery troops hit five command posts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as 75 artillery units, military personnel and equipment in 167 areas.

Besides, the Russian air force destroyed four ammunition and reactive rocket depots near the settlements of Kupiansk in Kharkov region and in Kramatorsk in Donetsk, in Kolomitsevo in Dnepropetrovsk region and in Prilimanskoye in Odessa region, Konashenkov said.

Finally in his press briefing, the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman specified that at a plant in Zaporozhie, which was repairing Ukrainian equipment, the Russian Armed Forces destroyed 10 pieces of artillery, including two American M777 howitzers.
