At a fraternal meeting at the Presidential Palace this afternoon, the head of State recalled his trip to the island just a year ago, during which he said that he could witness all the love of the Cuban people for Vietnam.
Xuan Phuc also proudly recalled the visit, on September 1973, of Historic Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, whom hundreds of thousands of his fellowmen and women warmly received on the streets of Hanoi.
In another moment of his welcome speech, the Vietnamese president expressed the certainty that the government will do everything in its power to fulfill the agreements reached to once again prove its unwavering support for Cuba.
For his part, Marrero Cruz thanked the hospitality and the love he and his delegation have received and said he recalls the fruitful meeting between him and the Vietnamese president during his recent visit to Havana.
He also extended the regards of Army General Raul Castro Ruz and gave him a letter sent by Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez. All this, he said, as a token of the love and respect for you and the Vietnamese people.
Before meeting on Thursday afternoon with the Vietnamese president, the Cuban prime minister was received by President of the National Assembly (Parliament), Vuong Dinh Hue; and paid a courtesy visit to Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong.
