The two sides discussed the importance of the contribution of Lebanese talent, experience and professionalism to ensure the success of the organization of the soccer World Cup in Qatar, scheduled to take place from November 20 to December 18.
They also consulted on the possibility of fostering collaboration with the Labor Ministry to create an electronic platform to facilitate the Lebanese in applying for jobs in the Qatari state.
In this context, the delegation exchanged with the Minister of Interior in the Lebanese acting government, Bassam Mawlawi, and representatives of the Federation and Engineers Union.
Mawlawi highlighted the coordination with the competent Qatari authorities to obtain the necessary documents to facilitate the residency procedures of the Lebanese, as well as the joint cooperation in security matters.
For their part, the engineering union and the Qatari visitors agreed to continue communication and work on forming a database of job applications to meet the needs of the labor market.
In the current year, Qatar supported Lebanon in alleviating the effects of the crisis by sending fuel to improve the supply of electricity to more than 40 hospitals and health centers and homes for the elderly, as well as providing $60 million in aid to the army.
