Satisfaction in Mexico for film’s participation in Cannes Shortfilm

Mexico City, Oct 1 (Prensa Latina) The fact of having reached the Shortfilm Corner of Cannes 2022 is a satisfaction for the makers of short film Azul Naranja, of production house Godot Media, interested parties said today.

In statements to the specialized media, Godot Media executives explained that Godot Media was founded by six young Mexicans for whom having participated in the Cannes film festival launched them to become a world-renowned production company.

Luis Casco, production assistant and executive producer, explained that the company emerged seven years ago as an independent film production company under the name Filmando a Godot.

It is made up of graduates of the Communication and Media Production, Theater and Economics degrees from the Universidad de las Americas Puebla.

Azul Naranja arose from the wish to participate in the 48 Hour Film Project, an annual film competition where teams of participating filmmakers are assigned a genre, a character, a prop and a line of dialogue, and have 48 hours to create a short film with it. The competition has been active since 2001.

Azul Naranja has come a long way, in 2021 it was part of the Official Selection of the International Queer Film Festival of Playa del Carmen and swept the awards of the 48 Hour Film Project Mexico, winning the audience award for best production and second place in the category of best short film.
