The group, headed by Homero Acosta, secretary of the National Assembly of People’s Power, will visit the most affected communities in the municipalities of San Juan y Martinez, Consolacion del Sur, San Luis, Viñales, La Palma and Pinar del Rio.
In these areas, which suffered serious damage to infrastructure and housing, they will talk with the population and authorities from different government agencies and will verify the main damages and the measures adopted for recovery.
A note from the parliament indicated that at the same time they will assess the alternatives to ensure the cooking of food and the distribution of water to the population; the assurance of the basic food basket, medical services and communications; as well as the methods used to inform the citizenship.
In dialogue with the vice-president of the Municipal Defense Council of Pinar del Rio, Homero Acosta explained that the support of the People’s Power system in recovery matters in the territory of the nation most affected by the meteorological phenomenon will be verified in the field.
