American country singer Loretta Lynn dies at 90

Washington, Oct 4 (Prensa Latina) Loretta Lynn, the coal miner's daughter and moonshiner's wife who became one of American country music's biggest stars and a leading feminist in the genre, has died at 90, her family says.

According to information disclosed, Loretta died in her sleep at her ranch after several hospitalizations for exhaustion, pneumonia.

However, Lynn was willing to continue working and singing just as she did during her colleague and friend Alan Jackson’s Country Music Hall of Fame ceremony.

Her death shocked many on social networks where pals and fans multiplied their thanks and admiration for her musical work as if it were a raucous ovation in an entire theater standing.

“Loretta was an iconic legend and she did things the way she wanted. I feel so blessed to consider a friend of hers. I miss you already Loretta. I love you. Rest angel”, the American singer and songwriter Darius Rucker posted on Twitter.

Vocalist Stella Parton, on the other hand, said she was heartbroken due to Loretta´s death, to whom she wished a sweet peace rest and assured her to perpetuate her in her memory through all shared encounters.
