The Russian Pacific Fleet group returned to Vladivostok after finishing the mission with the Chinese Navy ships in the Pacific waters, the military institution stated in a communique published by Sputnik news agency this Tuesday.

The operation lasted three weeks, and the two nations’ vessels covered more than 7,000 nautical miles.

The aim of the patrolling was to consolidate the military cooperation between Russia and China, maintain peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, monitor seawaters, and protect their economic interests.

Five Russian ships led by the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov and three Chinese vessels led by destroyer Niang Chang took part in the mission.
