In a letter to the Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad, the head of the Lebanese legislature signified the epic deeds and the unity of the people to achieve victory against the Zionist occupation.
Berri congratulated President Al-Assad on the leadership of the Syrian Arab Army, as well as officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers and the brotherly people for defending the nation, its rights, sovereignty and dignity against the Israeli entity.
The parliamentary leader expressed full confidence that ‘Syria will emerge victorious, stronger and united’, and in this regard, Berri stressed that ‘October is the lesson’.
At the same time, the Lebanese authority renewed support for the Syrian government in the battle to defend Golan Arabism and combat terrorism.
On October 6, 1973, the Syrian and Egyptian armies launched a war in which Cairo regained the Sinai and Damascus parts of the Golan, both occupied by Israel during the 1967 Six-Day War.
