Venezuela and Russia reviewed multilateral cooperation agenda

Caracas, Oct 7 (Prensa Latina) The governments of Venezuela and Russia reviewed the extensive multilateral and cooperation agenda between both countries in order to further strengthen frienship ties, the Foreign Ministry reported on Friday.

At a meeting with the deputy minister for multilateral topics at the Ministry of People´s Power for Foreign Affairs, Ruben Dario Molina, and Russian Ambassador in this capital, Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov, assessed specialized educational, cultural, scientific, economic and commercial organizations.

The Russian ambassador called the meeting fruitful on Twitter and said that they addressed current multilateral cooperation and the prospects of its future development in the spirit of the strategic alliance between our countries #JuntosAvanzamos (we move forward together).

At the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, the foreign ministers of Venezuela, Carlos Faria, and Russia, Sergey Lavrov, ratified their political willingness to keep on strengthening the strategic cooperation alliance and mutual friendship relations.

In a letter sent to the UN and read by Faria, President Nicolas Maduro supported the proposal by Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador of creating an international commission to facilitate sovereign talks between Russia and Ukraine.

He also condemned all military provocations and meddling economic sanctions adopted against Russia and the hate campaign to the detriment of the Russian people.

Maduro reaffirmed that those actions, instead of contributing to peace, fuel the fire of war.
