Lula affirms Brazil needs a change of Gov’t to be able to grow

Brasilia, Oct 10 (Prensa Latina) Former president and candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva affirmed today that the people need a change in the government for Brazil to be able to then return to economic growth and generate employment and job opportunities.

“If you take the budget imposed by the Government, which was sent to the National Congress, the resources for natural disasters, such as the one that took place in Petrópolis, the budget fell 99%, urban mobility fell 93%, the housing program fell 90%.”

“That is to say, there is no investment to improve the life of the people”, Lula pointed out in a radio interview.

He promised on Rio de Janeiro’s Super Radio Tupi that, if elected in the second round of the elections, scheduled for October 30, he will maintain the Bolsa Familia, a program to help low-income families, of 600 reais (about US$ 120) with more than 150 reais (US$ 30) per child up to six years of age.

He stated that this is the stage in which the child needs more food and quality of life.

According to latest polls, the Workers Party’s candidate still leads the electoral race.
