Joint units of the armed and security forces, in cooperation with local and civilian groups, carried out an operation against Daesh cells in the city of Jassem, in Deraa province, about 100 kilometers south of this capital, a military source quoted by official media said.
It added that the clashes ended with the elimination of a number of terrorists, including the two leaders Ayub Fadel Jabawi, nicknamed Abu Mujahid Barqa, and Aiham Faisal al-Halqi, nicknamed Aiham al-Faisal, while others were wounded.
On September 5, terrorist Muhammad Iyad Abdul Razzaq, nicknamed Abu Qassem Al-Aqrabawi, the assistant of Abu Salem Iraqi, the leader of the Daesh terrorist organization and killed on August 10, was killed in the town of Al-Jadoudah in the same province.
According to analysts, Daesh resorts, since its defeat in 2018, to guerrilla warfare tactics and attacks on the basis of clear intelligence instructions to wear down Syrian troops and their allies.
