Ukrainian bombing causes explosion, casualties in Russian region

Moscow, Oct 14 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Investigative Committee today reported several dead and wounded as a result of the explosion of an ammunition depot in the Belgorod region following shelling from Ukraine.

As a result of the impact of artillery fire from the Ukrainian territory a powder magazine located in the village Oktyabrsky in the southern district of Belgorod exploded, the Russian television reported.

The law enforcement agencies added that among the dead there are personnel of the National Guard (Rosgvardia). Aleksandr Bastrykin, head of the Federation Investigative Committee, ordered to open a criminal case for the bombing of the Belgorod region.

Russian military aviation attacked facilities of the military leadership and the energy system in the Kiev and Kharkov regions, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov announced Friday.

The spokesman said that the Russian military do not carry out attacks on Ukrainian cities, but only uses high-precision war means to disable Ukrainian military infrastructure, Konashenkov stressed at his regular press conference on Friday.

Similarly, the Russian Aerospace Forces used guided missiles to attack an arsenal in Brody, Lvov province, western Ukraine, where weapons received from Western countries were stored, the military spokesman said.

The senior official noted that the Ukrainian army tried to attack the Russian positions in the direction of Kupiansk three times during 24 hours, but was dispersed by the artillery of the Russian Armed Forces.
