A military source reported that the regulars raided a headquarters of the Islamic State terrorist organization, Daesh in Arabic, in the northern neighborhood of the city, where a clash took place that ended with the elimination of seven leaders, including one Iraqi national.
Three civilian volunteers were killed in the operation, two are residents of Jassem and the third from the town of Tafas, the source said.
The day before, the neutralization of a number of terrorists, including the two leaders Ayub Fadel Jabawi, nicknamed Abu Mujahid Barqa, and Aiham Faisal al-Halqi, nicknamed Aiham al-Faisal, was announced in the same locality, while others were wounded.
On September 5, in al-Jadoudah in the same province, terrorist Muhammad Iyad Abdul Razzaq, nicknamed Abu Qassem al-Aqrabawi, the assistant of Abu Salem Iraqi, the leader of the Daesh terrorist organization and eliminated on August 10 last, was killed.
According to analysts, Daesh resorts, since its defeat in 2018, to guerrilla warfare tactics and attacks on the basis of clear intelligence instructions to wear down Syrian troops and their allies.
