Cuban Medical Brigade in the Maldives condemns US blockade

Male, Oct 17 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Medical Brigade in the Maldives on Monday expressed support for the draft resolution that Cuba will submit for the 30th consecutive time to the United Nations General Assembly to demand an end to the United States economic, and financial and commercial blockade.

That US policy aims to subvert constitutional order in Cuba, causing shortages, pain, and suffering to Cuban families, according to the statement issued by the Cuban doctors, who are providing solidarity services in several places in the Maldives.

Washington’s blockade against Cuba has also limited access to food, medicines, fuel, and other essential items for the population, the document to which Prensa Latina had access states.

The Cuban doctors demanded that the United States remove Cuba from the unilateral and fraudulent list of countries sponsoring terrorism. That unprecedented US measure strengthens the impact of the economic suffocation against Cuba, they added.

The Brigade pointed out that the extraterritorial nature of the genocidal and unjust US blockade affects relations with other governments, entities, banks, and entrepreneurs with Cuba to the detriment of the well-being and human rights of the Cuban people.
