The parties held a meeting at the headquarters of the political group, during which they also discussed their respective contributions to nuclear disarmament and global efforts for world peace, according to a statement issued by the island´s diplomatic mission.

Shii conveyed a message of encouragement to the Cuban people and government due to the damage caused by Hurricane Ian last month.

He also expressed his respect for the long struggle of the Caribbean nation against the unfair economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States, the statement said.

The party leader also thanked the congratulations sent by the Communist Party of Cuba on the occasion of the centenary of the JCP, celebrated in July this year.
