According to the Army Guidance Directorate, an Israeli warship violated Lebanese territorial waters off the southern border at Ras Al-Naqoura, in the fourth maritime transgression in recent days.
Through a statement, the military command notified that the enemy vessel crossed the dividing line at a distance of about 222 meters from Ras Al-Naqoura and for a period of 62 minutes.
In the note, the army command asked the UN Interim Force to analyze the issue of Israeli violations over the Lebanese sea and airspace.
The recent violation comes in the context of Tel Aviv’s firing of flares last night in the vicinity of the ‘Al-Abad’ border post, opposite the southern town of Houla, Al Manar channel reported. At the end of last month, Lebanon addressed with the UN Interim Forces mission the daily and constant Israeli attacks on national sovereignty by land, sea and air.
In this regard, the Lebanese side reaffirmed the commitment to Resolution 1701 and all its implications, while calling on the United Nations to exert maximum pressure on the Israeli enemy to curb its hostile practices.
The Lebanese representation also stressed the need for Israeli withdrawal from all occupied territories: the Shab’a Farms and the Kfar Shuba Hills, as well as the northern part of the Ghajar area.
Both countries have been at war since the establishment of the State of Israel in the occupied land of Palestine and throughout these years many crimes and attacks linger in the memory of the people of Lebanon in the face of Tel Aviv’s ambitions to seize the water of the Litani River and the oil and gas wealth.
