During an interview with Ghali the day before, the South African president reaffirmed that the Saharawi right to self-determination is key to complete the process of decolonization of Western Sahara and described as illegal the occupation by Morocco of that territory.
South Africa’s honorable position towards the Saharawi issue is not new for a people that fought and struggles against colonialism and racial segregation.
Like South Africa we have experienced the same suffering and struggle against colonialism, Ghali told the press, on an official visit to the southern country.
The Secretary General of the Polisario Front also assured that ‘we will continue our struggle until we achieve national sovereignty over the whole of the Saharawi territories’.
