Managua, Oct 21 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Culture Day was celebrated with a concert at the Ruben Dario National Theater's Crystal Hall in Managua.

Thursday evening’s celebration included the performance of Camerata Bach chamber orchestra, Jazz Tá band, and Nicaraguan singer-songwriter Lenin Triana, who performed a repertoire of more than 20 songs from Cuba’s music stars.

Songs such as ‘La Comparsa’ by Ernesto Lecuona, ‘La bella cubana’ by José White, ‘Lágrimas negras’ by Miguel Matamoros, ‘Ojalá’ by Silvio Rodríguez, and ‘Guantanamera’ by Joseíto Fernández, among others, were performed in the tribute.

At the beginning of the evening, Ramon Rodriguez, director of the Ruben Dario National Theater, recalled that Bach Camerata has been performing this kind of concert for the island’s culture for 25 years, which shows the Nicaraguans’ gratitude to the Cuban Government and people.

Jorge-Mayo

Cuban Ambassador to Nicaragua Jorge Mayo thanked the Sandinista Government for the kindness and deference while highlighting the dedication and sensitivity of the revolutionary process with the promotion of culture.

Members of the state mission, part of the diplomatic staff accredited in the country, government officials, legislators, Nicaraguan citizens, and Cuban residents in this Central American nation attended the celebration on Cuban Culture Day.
