During the opening ceremony of the 18th General Assembly of the Organization of News Agencies of Asia and the Pacific (OANA), the executive stressed that it is possible to compete with the hegemonic media and become independent sources for the peoples of the world.
‘Now, that after three years we have passed the special period of Covid-19 broadcasting, it is a good opportunity to start a new chapter in the field of communication and media activity and exchange between independent media’, Naderi stressed.
The IRNA director general added that this period of time coincides with the changes in the world and the formation of the new world order and gave as an example the media manipulation of protests in this nation.
He pointed out that in the current situation it is necessary for the national and regional media to narrate their versions of events and happenings, showing another version different from the mainstream media.
Naderi thanked Yonhap News Agency of South Korea for managing this organization well in the last three years and creating good communication and cultural exchanges among OANA members despite the Covid-19 epidemic.
He expressed confidence that IRNA, which now assumes the pro tempore presidency of the organization, will play a good role and bring its members together to expose the truth of the people.
