During the 18th General Assembly of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA), the Russian delegation, represented by Sergey Mikhailov, TASS Director General, praised inter-agency collaboration as a necessary strategy in the region.
In this year’s edition, organized by the Iranian News Agency IRNA, senior executives from the main news agencies and media outlets of the member countries are present.
As part of the collateral activities, the opening of the photo exhibition of the world without coronavirus was announced.
The meeting, inaugurated in this capital with the presence of the Minister of Culture of Iran, Mohamad Mahdi Esmaeili; and IRNA Director General Ali Naderi, is attended by 60 managers and editors from 35 news agencies.
The OANA was founded in Bangkok, Thailand, on December 22, 1961 with the aim of facilitating the dissemination of information in the region with the support of UNESCO. It covers two-thirds of the world’s population and has 43 members from 35 countries in Asia and Oceania.
