Yoon gave the instructions during a weekly meeting held at his office with Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, urging the government to plan strong measures against drug-related crimes, according to Deputy Presidential Spokesman Lee Jae-myoung.

President Yoon stressed they desperately need to wage a war on drugs as a society, before drugs spread beyond the manageable critical level to a nationwide risk, Lee said.

He added that, regarding the strong increase in young people who commit drug crimes both on and off the Internet, the president requested that special measures be drawn up to protect future generations.
