Peru: U.S. blockade against Cuba will be rejected at UN

Lima, Oct 25 (Prensa Latina) Peruvian solidarity personalities disseminated videos on the Internet conveying encouraging messages to Cuba ahead of the U.S. blockade, before the upcoming debate of a new UN resolution against such a hostile policy.

“From Peru, on behalf of the National Coordinator of Solidarity with Cuba, we join the global call to put an end to the blockade criminally imposed by the United States on Cuba,” coordinator Nicolás Aguilar said in his video-message.

“To the Cuban people we say that Cuba is not alone, that global solidarity really helps to break the hostile blockade,” she added.

In his video, the Secretary-General of the Peruvian Communist Party (PCP) Luis Villanueva expressed his solidarity with the Cuban government and people who have been fighting the economic, commercial and financial blockade for over 60 years.

It´s a unilateral blockade contrary to international willingness and major cause that hinders the economic and social development of the Cuban people, he added

In view of forthcoming UN General Assembly (UNGA), Villanueva expressed “our support and solidarity to the Cuban people”.

The President of Solicuba, Colectivo de Pensamiento y Cultura, Gustavo Espinoza, expressed his solidarity greetings to the Cuban people from “the Peruvians who call for the end of the genocidal blockade imposed on Cuba for more than 60 years”.
