Most Hungarians condemn EU sanctions against Russia

Budapest, Oct 26 (Prensa Latina) The percentage of Hungarians who oppose the sanctions imposed against Russia has increased by 11 points since May and today stands at 52, according to a survey conducted by the Median polling institute.

Following the deployment of Moscow’s special military operation in the Donbas territories, the European Union and the West issued several packages of measures against Russia, but their boomerang effect, warned by the Kremlin, is currently affecting those who sanctioned as well.

In this context, Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s administration is opposed to any action blocking the purchase of hydrocarbons from Russia, on which it is dependent.

The EU sanctions lead us to ruin, some posters on the streets of this capital read, local press reported.

For his part, Orban said that Europe is shooting itself in the foot by implementing this policy, according to statements made public here.
