The call made by the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), the African Center for Justice and Peace Studies and the Sudan Human Rights Monitor comes a year after militaries seized power in the African country.
The institutions condemned the deadly repression against popular and peaceful demonstrations demanding an urgent civilian transition.
They called for respect, full inclusion of civil society and ensuring respect for their demand.
They also called for independent investigations so that all perpetrators are held accountable and the victims receive justice.
Also, the FIDH President, Alice Mogwe said that the current crisis in Sudan and its escalating violence underscores the need for a transition to a democratic dispensation that is responsive and accountable to the needs of the people.
Since the 2021 military coup, security situation has continuously deteriorated across the country, especially in Blue Nile State, where at least 220 Sudanese were recently killed.
