According to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Wang Wenbin, China opposes the ‘accusations, irresponsible remarks and groundless speculations against the normal modernization of its nuclear forces,’ which Washington included in its recent Nuclear Posture Review.

He criticized the White House’s decision to design a deterrent strategy in this field against China and demanded that it abandoned the Cold War mentality of imposing hegemonic logic and stoking confrontation.

The spokesman called on the United States to implement a rational and responsible nuclear policy, fulfill its commitment to nuclea disarmament and contribute more to peace and security in the world.
