In the letter, to which Prensa Latina had access, the veterans stressed that life in Cuba has been affected for over sixty years by the fierce US economic, financial, and commercial blockade.
The veterans added that Washington pressures other countries, thus making this blockade extraterritorial and legal under the Torricelli and Helms-Burton Acts, which seek to hinder Cuba’s trade with the rest of the world.
All this violates the principles of freedom of trade, navigation and other cooperation spheres under international law, and Cuba cannot purchase food, medicines and other vital goods for its people, they stressed.
Finallly, they reiterated their support for the fair struggle of the Cuban people and Government, the return of the illegally occupied territory of Guantanamo and the end of all attacks.
