Brazil ordered to eliminate false news about Lula

Brasilia, Oct 30 (Prensa Latina) The president of Brazil's Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Alexandre de Moraes, ordered the elimination of publications by allies of President Jair Bolsonaro that swarm with false news about former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The G1 portal assures that the disclosures were made by supporters such as Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, the Minister of Communications, Fábio Faria, and Congresswoman Bia Kicis.

The messages sought to associate Lula to an eventual end of the Individual Micro-Entrepreneur (MEI) regime in case he is elected this Sunday.

By De Moraes’ decision, the exclusion of the content depends on Bolsonaro’s followers and digital platforms.

Lula himself denied the fake news.

‘They are on social media saying that I want to end the MEI. I mean, I honestly can’t conceive how someone disputes an election by blatantly lying the entire campaign,’ he said the day before.

In view of the fact, the magistrate established a fine of 100 thousand reais (about 20 thousand dollars) and that no new publications be made, under penalty of fine.
