Human remains found in South Africa

Pretoria, Nov 3 (Prensa Latina) South African authorities reported that they found 21 bodies of alleged illegal miners west of the city of Johannesburg, whose causes of death are being investigated by forensic doctors.

Police spokeswoman in Gauteng province, Brenda Muridili, stated that the human remains were found in an open pit of a privately owned mine located in the town of Krugersdorp.

According to the source, it appears that the bodies of the deceased, 19 initially found and two others later, were placed in the enclosure, after being brought from an unknown site.

In recent times, several violent incidents against people have been reported around mining sites in Johannesburg.

Last July, a film crew was rammed by unknown elements at a former gold mining site in the town of Krugersdorp, resulting in the rape of several women and the theft of personal belongings.
