Iran approves visits by nuclear inspectors

Tehran, Nov 11 (Prensa Latina) The Iranian Government approved the visits of inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to its nuclear sites next month, Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian announced on Friday.

In a telephone conversation with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the Iranian diplomat confirmed good progress at the talks and technical cooperation between Tehran and the IAEA, according to a report by Al Mayadeem television station.

According to the report, the IAEA inspectors will be able to clear up the doubts surrounding the discovery of remains of nuclear material in three sites in Iran.

The latest report by the IAEA shows that until October 22, Iran’s enriched uranium reserves totaled 3673.7 kilograms with a decrease of 267.2 kilograms in comparison with the previous quarterly report.

In a speech at the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Amir Said Iravani, called on the IAEA to act impartially, independently, and professionally, in accordance with the Safeguards Agreement, without giving in to pressure from certain parties.

The Iranian Government insists on its willingness to return to the negotiating table to resume the 2015 nuclear agreement, which was unilaterally broken by the United States during the Donald Trump administration, always on the basis of respect and lifting of illegal measures against Iran.
